Behind the Scenes of a Japanese Wedding
I was so lucky to be able to see how couples choose their weddings and wedding halls today! I had attended a Japanese wedding when I studied abroad in Japan at the age of 17 but this showed a different and more interesting side to a wedding in Japan.I sat in the back and watched what they called, a "demo wedding." At first I thought it was a rehearsal when actually, it was not. A demo wedding is when couples from everywhere in Japan come to see what their wedding could be like if they were to choose this specific hall. The wedding hall hires models to act as a husband and wife and they walk down the aisle hand in hand as if they were truly to be married. This is a way to sell the wedding.
Japanese people actually get married by going to their local ward office and signing a piece of paper. That way, they are officially married. A wedding ceremony at a Christian church is basically to make the marriage feel more official.
During the wedding, songs are requested and sung through out the ceremony. This includes Disney, J-pop, and other famous music. I was told that the idea behind all this glamour and おしゃれ

(fancy) ness is to make it feel as if the couples are in a movie-like setting.
If the customers enjoy the demo wedding they can decide if they want to choose this particular wedding hall or move on to the next one.
I wish I could have gotten videos and had more time for interviews but I could not at the time so hopefully next time!
I tried out for a wedding singing job so I have yet to decide if I will have the time to take it or not. I feel it is a great way to meet people and continue my love of singing so I will think hard!
Thank you for reading my first blog post!

These are awesome Behind the Scenes of a Japanese Wedding. It was way too interesting post for me because very soon I too would be attending a chic Japanese reception party at one of the San Francisco wedding venues and it is going to be just so interesting for me and my family because we haven’t witnessed any Japanese ceremony ever in our lives.
